Coaching High School Soccer – Important Tips To Follow

Coaching high school soccer is something that can make a huge difference for winning or losing soccer games. The strategies regarding the soccer formations, styles of play, soccer defence, the speed of play and free kicks are some of the most important elements that can give the high school soccer players a winning edge over the other team.

There are different techniques that will effectively teach the players how to dribble in traffic for example. As per this method, first, make the square 5 or 6 adult steps wide. Now instruct the players just to dribble across and stop. Don’t let them turn and dribble back.

This is just a quick example on how to develop specific skills while running and under pressure or how to pass quickly after having made a turn. One essential aspect is that the method teaches the passer that she/he should quickly move after making a pass and not stand still.

Coaching Youth Soccer
If there is something you need to correct while teaching a drill, you should stop the drill and demonstrate the step to correct the error. Psychology plays an importantrole in coaching soccer.

Also consider that you can start the practice sessions with running drills. When doing that, you can have the players step once or twice between each stick for example. The players must change direction at each turn, shuffling sideways between the sticks. You can also have the players run between the sticks lengthwise.

An expert coach understands that the Power comes from quickness of the execution. Have the players use the elastic quality of the leg muscles. If soccer players think that way, they will be able to jump much higher. They need to squat and leap rather than leaping up starting from a squatting position.

The coach should also ensure that the defenders are tough and are not afraid of physical contact. If you have a player in the team who is afraid of contact, it is big disadvantage for you. If you play him or her at Fullback or Sweeper, get ready to give up many goals.

In order to move the ball around the defenders for example, the attackers must try to get the ball past all of the defenders and into unobstructed space within scoring range of the goal.

The Upcoming Football Betting News

This weekend all eyes will be on the Milano derby.
As always there will be alot of ptredictions regarding this game.
You will have the everybody from the pizza delivery to the police officers giving predictions.

I say.
If they knew football would they deliver pizza?
If they knew football would they look for the bad guys on the street?

I have just gone on a 9!! games winning streak with good prices involved.
Bragging? Naaa just facts..
Lets just say that my predictions on any givien soccer/football game count alot more then the novice punter or street guy.

So let’s start analysing the game between Milan and Inter this Sunday.

Milan come from two straight wins and they seem to have put all that early trouble behind them.

But is all great now?
Or was everything all bad when they lost two games in a row?
Fact is its not great and its not disaster.

Milan have once again chosen to come inte a new season with a squad that CANT win the league.
Of course Ancelloti dosent think this way nor does Mr Berlosconi.
But i dont care what they think or not think.

I say #You dont win the league with a squad like that#

Milans biggest problem is the defensive line.
Players like Maldini,Kaladze,Jankolovski,Zambrotta,Bonera are just average players (spare me the he have won this or he have won that, it dosent matter)
Football today is not what it was 10 or 20 years ago.

The bar is raised and its raised big time.
A modern defender today in a top team must be great at

1) Defending

And good to

2) Help the team in their offensive play.

What defender in todays Milan have these characteristics?

Compare Milan’s defence with teams like Real Marid,Inter,Chelsea,Man United etc etc. (not just defensively but offensively as well)

I don’t know what tactics Ancelotti will use against Inter this Sunday.

But knowing he have the likes of Ibrahimovic,Mancini,Quaresma against him.
He might choose a safer approach (4-5-1?)

Kaka will once again be the #go-to guy# but unfortunately for him,
he doesn’t get the support he needs many time from his team mates.
You think Kaka is playing good right?
Well he is doing alright considering he have no team mates with his ability.
When you have great players around you, it’s easier to be great and play great.

Ronaldinho for example is just a salsa dancer nowadays.
If he played football as good as he smiles he might bring Milan titles.

Pirlo although injureed lack the passion you need in modern top football.

Pato although i rate him very very high is still not a week in and week out player for Milan.
Who else?

Shevcenko? lost his speed and you just dont go to the supermarket to get new speed.

He is a 6-8 goals a season player now so forget him.
Flamini is ok but calling him a great player is only gonna confuse alot of football fans who by the way are already confused.

So you see i dont see a bright future for this Milan team with these players. (important with these players)

Inter on the other hand is doing everything great.

The sacking of Mancini maybe was harsh but Moratti is not out to make friends.

He want titles and more titles.
I was not a fan of Mancinis Inter, but i cant say i was against it either.

One thing certian though,it was too much of a defensive minded Inter under Mancini.

It was an Inter that defended 15-20 meters too deep in my book.
And i had problems with only seeing 2-3 creative players on the field when Inter played.

Mourinho has changed this.

1) The defence play much higher now.
2) Muntari,Quaresma,Mancini have arrived and they are all pretty much starters. (all creative players)

With this Inter, adds 2 other dimensions that they were missing from the era of Mancini which pretty much make them a stronger side under Mourinho.

Can Milan beat Inter this Sunday?
That’s for sure as anything can happen in one game.
Can Milan have a great Seria A season this time around?
My answer will be the same like the one i gave two years ago,and the one i gave last year.

#This Milan team cant compete with this Inter team over 38 games like the Serie A is#

Enjoy the game on Sunday.
And what ever i think about this or any other game will be shared to my members.
As i said the past have shown that my advices and thoughts count.

Often parents or coaches wish to give up and coming young soccer players every opportunity to enhance the skills they learn when playing soccer. These additional soccer tips are sometimes the added dimension needed to make an average player into a good player.

Therefore, parents or coaches of soccer teams may utilize or suggest soccer tips for those young players who may wish to excel in the game of soccer. The soccer tips can be presented to these young players in a variety of ways. Three ways of being taught soccer tips are through soccer camps, videos, and through the internet. Often these soccer tips can include goal scoring soccer tips, goal tending tips, passing, dribbling, etc.

Soccer Camps

A soccer camp is an opportunity where an aspiring soccer player can learn a variety of soccer tips. In some instances a soccer camp can be over a number of days, held at a camping facility that houses the camper and provides other recreational activities. Some soccer camps can simply be a one day soccer clinic that provides the soccer tips.

Obviously extended soccer camps are more expensive than one day clinics. In addition, a soccer camp may involve a variety of instructors offering soccer tips whereas a one day clinic may be facilitated by one individual.

One unique advantage to a soccer camp is the providing of soccer tips through lengthy practical hands on experience by the staff. This unique experience also can stimulate competitiveness amongst the attending campers which can add to the learning value.

Soccer Videos

Another method of learning soccer tips is through DVDs that showcase soccer tips. The videos can be especially helpful because the proper visual image of demonstrating the soccer tip is portrayed.

In addition, being on DVD, the area of interest can be rewound or played slowly so that the full demonstrated soccer tip can be absorbed. Also, the DVD or video is a purchase and therefore available for future practices or when revisiting certain soccer tips.

Internet Tips

One additional way of learning soccer tips is through the internet. There are many online sites such as this one that are available to demonstrate through pictures and words how to successfully improve soccer techniques or other methods meant to improve the soccer player’s game.

These sites offering soccer tips can be helpful in that sometimes they offer these tips at no cost. Also, they may be provided by a number of successful soccer players who know how to play the game of soccer at an elevated level. Hopefully these tips can boost the coaching already received.

Soccer Training For Your Goalie

Posted by Steve on September 16th, 2008 under Soccer Training Tags:  •  No Comments

When putting together a soccer training program, it’s important to aim for a practical and steady regimen that will reduce particular flaws. It’s ideal to develop a regimen for strength, endurance, flexibility, and speed. However, it’s just as beneficial to develop soccer training programs that are geared toward a specific position. This type of targeted training will certainly bring a new degree of excitement to your training sessions.

Depending on the style of play, soccer goalies are typically the last line of defense and the first line of offense. Their skill and effectiveness often determines how much your team controls the ball during a game. For this reason, it is necessary to build a soccer training program that is geared specifically toward the goalie.

The Goalie’s Mental State

Perhaps the most important aspect of soccer training on which to focus is the goalie’s mental state. Because the goalie’s role is so vital, it’s imperative to develop mental training regimens that are comprised of affirmations and focusing techniques. This will help your goalie stay calm in tense situations during play while being a leader who can help navigate the team through these times.

A goalie’s words and actions can often have a positive or negative influence on the team’s overall performance. For this reason, goalies should be encouraged to communicate with the rest of the team in a positive manner.

The Goalie’s Physical State

Some of the best goalies are tall with long arms and big hands. However, those who are vertically challenged can be just as effective if they have excellent vertical and lateral mobility. A soccer training program for the goalie should include warm ups with the rest of the team as well as individualized drills that will help them get ready for the practice or the game.

The goalie’s soccer training regimen should include exercises and drills that help them to identify their center of gravity. Diving and rolling techniques should also be implemented so that goalie learns how to effectively defend the goal without hurting themselves. You can even get some good advice from gymnastics. An acrobatic goalie will acquire the skills that can help build their confidence as a player and progressively increase in their effectiveness.

Goalies often put themselves in harm’s way when stopping or blocking a shot that is headed toward the goal, so mental and physical toughness are a must. Because this position can be so mentally and physically demanding, soccer training programs that target the goalie will prove to be highly beneficial.

Soccer Equipment Can Help Your Game

Posted by Steve on September 15th, 2008 under Soccer Equipment Tags:  •  No Comments

The professional soccer players often have very sophisticated stadiums and soccer equipment, but the game is very popular because children all around the world can play a vigorous game without a great deal of special equipment. Some children play a game with only a ball. That is really the only soccer equipment that is absolutely necessary, and some children play the game with a very inexpensive ball. The official balls that the professionals use when they play their games meet certain specifications like the balls used in other sports such as professional basketball and baseball.

The official soccer balls are usually a black and white sphere approximately 28 inches in circumference. This piece of soccer equipment usually weighs about sixteen ounces. Many soccer balls are made of leather although other materials are used for acceptable balls. The soccer ball is familiar to many people around the world because it is usually made of thirty-two panels made in the shape of pentagons and hexagons. This piece of soccer equipment looks very distinguished as it spins across the field. The official balls are made of the separate panels although other balls are made of one piece but in black and white that appear to be separate panels.

Soccer Equipment Includes Special Shoes, Jerseys And Shorts

Children can play the game of soccer with little soccer equipment besides a ball, and some pieces of wood or rock to mark a goal. Some people will play a game of soccer with the sneakers that they use for other purposes. Most players like to have better soccer equipment if possible. A good pair of soccer shoes can make any player a better asset to the team. There are soccer shoes that can cost more than a hundred dollars, and many players like to have these great shoes when they play the game. The shoes for soccer are often called soccer boots in other parts of the world. The shoes used for soccer have studs that help the players as they propel the ball down the field.

Soccer equipment does not require special jerseys or shorts, but there are some distinguished jerseys and shorts available. The best professional teams have beautiful uniforms for their games, and many of these teams wear uniforms that are immediately recognized by their fans. The organized teams for amateurs usually have uniforms that imitate those worn by the professionals. Even the organized teams for young children have beautiful uniforms that most players find most becoming. The day that the soccer equipment is provided to the teams is usually a day of great excitement for the young players.
